Media Officer (1 Position)
Coordinate all FAFEN activities related to the media under the supervision of the National Coordinator, the management of the FAFEN Executive Council, and working with technical advisors.
Job Responsibilities:
- § Develop and manage the FAFEN media and public relations strategy.
- § Develop and maintain a database of stakeholders, media, and partners.
- § Draft bi-weekly newsletter, solicit and incorporate feedback from the FAFEN EC, and publish and disseminate to stakeholders.
- § Manage media relationships, set up press conferences and other media opportunities, and get press releases out to national and international media.
- § Provide analysis and recommendations to FAFEN EC regarding media opportunities.
- § Manage and update FAFEN website, sometimes with rapid developments.
- § Manage archive of all FAFEN news clippings and other relevant news items.
Required Qualifications:
- § Pakistani national fluent in written and spoken English and Urdu.
- § Master's Degree in the Social Sciences or Journalism.
- § At least 8 years experience relating to print and broadcast media professionals and institutions in Pakistan.
- § At least 3 years experience writing press releases or other public documents for a non-profit organization or corporation.
- § Expert knowledge of Pakistani politics and/or election systems and/or advocacy.
- § Fluent in standard computer programs, including Microsoft Word, database spreadsheets, and PowerPoint, and excellent typing skills in English.
- § Demonstrated self-initiative, ability to be a part of a highly-productive team, and ability to work to tight deadlines and under time pressure.
- § Experience with international media would be an asset.
