Costs
and charges
All charges are
listed in Charges
(Fees). The following information will explain
some of these charges.
First instalment of
the visa application charge
You must pay the
first instalment of the visa application charge at the
time of your application. If members of your family
unit are included in your application only one
application charge is payable for the entire family
unit.
Second instalment of
the visa application charge
If an applicant for a
Business Skills visa is 18 years or over and is
assessed as not having functional English, a second
instalment of the visa application charge will be
payable. This covers the cost of English language
tuition in Australia to achieve functional English.
The full amount must
be paid before a visa can be granted.
Medical costs
You will be required
to pay for a medical examination for each family
member included in your application.
For entry into
Australia, medical examinations conducted overseas are
generally only acceptable if conducted by panel
doctors and radiologists accepted by the
Australian Government.
Other costs
You should also be
prepared to pay other costs associated with your
application, such as those required to obtain a
character clearance from authorities in your country,
and the cost of certified translations of documents.
Lodging
an application
To lodge a Business
Skills migration application, you should obtain Booklet
7, Business Skills Entry.
It has detailed
information about what is required to come to
Australia as a business migrant, where to lodge your
application, and information about living in
Australia.
All applications for
a Business Skills (Provisional) visa and a Business
Talent (Migrant) visa are lodged and processed in one
of three Business Skills centres in Hong Kong, Taipei
and Perth:
An application will
only be valid if it is lodged in one of these centres.
Applications sent elsewhere will be returned to the
applicant.
All applications for
a Business Skills (Residence) visa and the Established
Business in Australia or Regional Established Business
in Australia categories are lodged and processed in a
departmental business
centre in Australia.
Document
checklists
It is very important
that you lodge your Business Skills visa application
with all documents necessary to assess your
application. A checklist of documents has been
prepared to assist you in lodging a complete
application. Applications that are lodged incomplete
may be refused.
